But now, let’s get to the video. Since this is a cactus, of course, he’s not a big lover of high humidity, so in order to keep the humidity levels low, I actually put the cactus with other succulents that also don’t like so much humidity. Try to keep him away from tropical plants that love humidity because these plants tend also to increase humidity around them. The bunny ears cactus actually loves high temperatures, so try to keep him in a room that is between 21 to 37 degrees Celsius. However, it is important to know that in the winter months this cactus actually likes lower temperatures. So in the winter you should keep your cactus in a room that is between 10 to 18 degrees Celsius. In terms of light, this cactus will be okay is filtered sunlight, but actually loves full sun, so if you can keep him close to a south facing window, he will be very happy there. In terms of water, one important thing is not to overwater your cactus. How much you water your cactus will very depending on the season. It is recommended that in the summer, you water your cactus once a week, since light levels are high. But in the winter you should water less often. So maybe once every two weeks. The way that I check if my cactus needs water, is actually with a tooth pick. So what I do is to put two thirds of the tooth pick inside the soil just to check if the soil is still moist. If the soil is still moist, I don’t water. I only water when I see that the soil has become dry. That way, I make sure that I don’t over water my cactus. Remember, this cactus actually comes from very dry areas. So it’s better not to water it so often, so you don’t overwater it. For an extra loving tip, make sure that you move your cactus to a cooler room during the winter. During the spring, if you want it to flower, you can put it in a room that is a little bit warmer.
