Cassava cake is a classic Filipino dessert that’s made with grated cassava and topped off with a thin layer of caramelized condensed milk. First we’re gonna peel and core 1-3 cassavas. You can also use frozen grated cassavas, but we highly recommend preparing your own because it tastes way better. Once you’ve peeled and cored your cassava, grate 3 cups worth into a mixing bowl. A then add 1/4 of a cup of sugar, 3 and a half cups of coconut milk, 2 eggs and 1/2 cups of macapuno. Stir until everything is fully mixed. Then pour in and mix 1/4 of a cup of unsalted butter. Next pour the mixture into a greased glass pan. And then cover it with foil. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and bake for one hour. While the cassava cake is baking you can prepare your topping. Separate one egg yolk and add it to 1 and 3/4 cup of condensed milk. And mix thoroughly. When the cake is done baking, evenly pour the condensed milk topping over the surface. And bake uncovered for an additional 20 minutes or until golden. Now all you have to do is cut yourself a slice and dig in! It’s talagang tasty! Hope you enjoyed our video!
