Today I will be making coconut Almond Burfi. This is very classic dessert and simply delicious. Coconut Almond Burfi is super easy to make with few ingredients. This is also a gluten free and vegan treat. This recipe will serve six. To make coconut almond burfi we will need: 2 cups shredded coconut. I am using frozen shredded coconut and this is available in Indian grocery stores. 1.75 cups of sugar 1/2 cup blanched almond powder 1/4 teaspoon cardamon powder If you don’t have balanced almond powder. It’s easy to do it at home. Soak the almonds in hot water for about 5 minutes. Then take out the water. And put it in cold water again for 5 minutes and then remove the skin. And let the almond dry for about 2 hours. And then grind it. I am ready to make the coconut almond burfi. I am using the heavy bottom pan. Heat is on, low medium. So first I will put the coconut. And put the sugar and let the sugar melt. And sugar and coconut should be mixed really well. Sugar has melted and it’s bubbling. And it took me about 3 minutes. So cook just for another minute. And then we are going to add the almond powder. Now I am going add the almond powder. And it has been about 3.5 minutes. And add the cardamom powder. Now keep stirring till the coconut mix as come together. And starts leaving the sides. This should take about 4-5 minutes. This has been about 4 minutes. And it’s coming together really nicely. And I think it will need about 2 more minutes. Mix is ready. And as you see it is consistency of soft dough. And I am going to transfer this in the plate. All together it has taken me 10 minutes of cooking. I have changed the spatula. And I have oiled it and plate was also oiled. So just now press it. And make it in this square shape. If you’re not able to spread. Just wet the spacular slightly. And press it so burfis will be firm. Otherwise they will brake. while burfi is still warm. Cut them in the pieces. But do not remove from the plate. Let the burfi come to room temperature. And then we are going to pick up the pieces. Burfi has come to room temperature. So now I can pick up the pieces. So u see it’s easy to pick up. And it’s looking very good. Coconut almond burfi is looking beautifu!. Try this simple and tasty sweet. This one burfi I don’t like to garnish.
