everything we serve here at Joe’s Dairy Bar and Grill? That’s right. French fries. Just LOOK at these babies! Burgers and fries…well, really, anything
with fries…it seems like a match made in heaven. But do you know WHY our French fries really
are the best in Dutchess County, let alone ALL of the Hudson Valley in New York State? There’s actually a FEW reasons! STEP 1: Fry Foundation Let’s be honest. You can’t build a good house on a poor foundation. Use a cheap oil and it shows up in the taste
buds as you’re trying to enjoy your fries. The oil we use at Joe’s Dairy Bar and Grill
is very high-grade. We don’t skimp because quite frankly, it
affects the end result. But that’s just part of the equation! You want the oil itself to be clean—and
you can tell the oil is clean when it’s light colored. And that means that your fries should be light
in color, too. Any sauces or special rubs or treatments aside,
if you’re getting basic French fries, they shouldn’t otherwise be DARK. When they’re dark, that means the oil is
dirty. No one’s cleaned the fryers. Possibly ever. Ewwwww. It should be common sense, right? Keep your fryers clean so your product isn’t
gross, too oily, too greasy, etc. Then why don’t a lot of fast food places
actually follow through on this? I’ll tell you why. Laziness! Sure, keeping a fryer clean is a lot of work,
but it’s worthwhile work. A business owner should feel blessed that
they or their staff has to clean the fryers out daily to near daily…that means they’re
selling a lot of product and that their business is successful. Of course, they can’t sell a lot of product
if their product is grody! That’s 80’s speak for gross, everybody. STEP 2: Thick & Rich Joe’s Dairy Bar and Grill makes sure that
its standard French fries are your thick and rick crinkle cut kind. It’s the most popular, so it’s all about
keeping the people happy. The fries we sell are nice and substantial;
they’re not teeny-weeny little shoestrings that no matter how quickly you fry them up
become like string beans made of potato…with no insides left when you bite into them. I mean, if that’s what you like, great. The Joe’s Dairy Bar and Grill clientele
just love, love, love our basic fries. But do we go beyond the basic at Joe’s? STEP 3: Mix It Up Of COURSE we do, people! We have more than just crinkle-cut going on
at OUR little ol’ ice cream stand. So if you like things that go beyond the gustatory
pale, you’re in luck! We have your standard waffle fries, buffalo
fries (which are waffle fries tossed in buffalo sauce and drizzled with blue cheese), bacon
ranch cheese fries (where they’re anointed with crispy bacon cheddar cheese sauce and
ranch dressing)…I mean, you never know what we’re going to come out with next. Plus, let’s not forget we have all the typical
varieties that customers crave. Cheese fries, chili cheese fries, bacon chili
cheese fries. You know. The works. But we’re not done yet…. Bonus Tip: Culinary Crowdsourcing OK, part of any relationship—even when it
involves foodies and their French fries—involves communication. And we at Joe’s Dairy Bar and Grill believe
that communication with customers is key. So we engage in culinary crowdsourcing on
the regular. Meaning that we poll our Facebook Group members
nearly every week to see if they’re interested in what’s new and exciting in the food world…and
we ask them if they want us to carry it or create it. Yup! We listen to our customers. We LOVE our customers! And that shines through every single day of
the week. They love us, we love them and we listen to
them like crazy. Even when it comes to something you might
have thought was so simple and rote, like the humble French fry. Now you know the steps we here at Joe’s
Dairy Bar and Grill have to take when cooking up French fries for our customers, but do
YOU have a way to save big once you come to visit us? No problem. I’ve got a cool discount for YOU and you’ll
