Hello everyone! welcome to Kanak’s Kitchen Today I will show you how to prepare Gulab Jamun This is a very delicious and popular Indian sweet dish This is prepared out of khoya. Today I won’t be using khoya. Instead I will be using milk powder This is easily available to everyone This is hot favourite of everyone and is easily prepared at home. So let’s see what you need for this Ingredients First in a container, combine the water and sugar Mix it and let it come to a boil Once dissolved and boiled, reduce the flame to simmer for around 5-7 minutes. Do not make the syrup very thick It should be lightly thick When it has started thickening, switch off the flame Add lemon juice This way it will not caramelize You can also add a few drops of rose water In a bowl, mix together the milk powder Add the semolina, all purpose flour and the baking powder. Add the ghee or clarified butter Mix it until it becomes lightly crumpy Add the milk Kneed it to make a soft dough out of it Use the milk little at a time as desired Dough is ready, let it rest for 5 minutes If the dough it too try, again add a teaspoon of milk to it Divide this dough into small roundels Make sure they are smooth enough on top Heat the oil on medium flame Fry it on medium flame Once they get uniform brown colour on all sides Remove them, immediately soak them in warm syrup Do not crowd the vessel as they will expand a little Let them soak in the sugar syrup for atleast 1-2 hours My lovely and sweet gulab jamuns prepared out of milk powder are ready now. They look quite lovely.
