ERIC, WHAT ARE CITY LEADERS DOING ABOUT THIS?>>Reporter: WELL THEY’RE PUTTING OUT SIGNS LIKE THIS ONE SAYING THERE IS TOO MUCH WATER ON THIS ROADWAY. DO NOT PASS THIS SIGN BECAUSE IT IS FLOODED. THE WATER I’M ACTUALLY STANDING IN IS LEVEL WITH THE BOATS THAT ARE RIGHT BEHIND ME ON LAKE MONROE. AND AS YOU COULD IMAGINE, ALL OF THIS WATER IS CREATING A LOT OF PROBLEMS. TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT THE SEA WALL HERE ALONG LAKE MONROE IN DOWNTOWN SANFORD, YOU CAN SEE THE WALL TOTALLY SUBMERGED. WATER SPILLING RIGHT INTO DOWNTOWN. MASH MILE LONG STRETCH OF IT, I RIGHT BEHIND CITY HALL.>>WE’VE NEVER SEEN IT LIKE THIS.>>>DOUG NIELSON AND HIS FRIEND WALKED THIS LAKE A FEW TIMES A MONTH AND DIDN’T THINK IT WOULD BE THIS BAD.>>COMPLETELY UNDER WATER. HE LIVED HERE HIS WHOLE LIFE AND HASN’T SEEN IT THIS BAD SINCE HURRICANE CHARLIE.>>WE’RE VERY SURPRISE ED TO SEE THE WATER LEVELS TO WHERE THEY ARE.>>Reporter: THOSE WATER LEVELS ARE DOING MORE THAN JUST SHUTTING DOWN STREETS HERE, THEY’RE BRINGING IN FISH AND OTHER SEA LIFE, AND MOST OF ITS DYING. WE FOUND THIS ROTTING FISH CAR CUSS THIS EVENING, THEY’VE EVEN FOUND DEAD TURTLES. TONIGHT THE CITY IS URGING PEOPLE TO FIND ANOTHER WAY TO WORK TOMORROW MORNING.>>JUST ‘CAUSE, YOU KNOW, BUSINESS IS A WILL THE OF MONEY AND PEOPLE A LOT OF DAMAGE. IT’S SAD TO SEE IT, BUT THAT’S WHAT IT IS.>>>AND WE FOUND OUT TONIGHT, THERE IS ANOTHER DANGEROUS. CITY OFFICIALS TELL US THAT ALLIGATORS AND SNAKES COULD ALSO BE IN THIS WATER. THEY ARE URGING ANYBODY TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS AREA. AND IF YOU DO USE THIS AVENUE, SEMINAL BOULEVARD ON YOUR WAY TO WORK, CHOOSE ANOTHER ROUTE. THEY SAY AT LEAST DO THAT UNTIL THE WATER RECEDES. AND THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAYS THAT WON’T HAPPEN UNTIL LATER THIS WEEK, AT THE VERY EARLIEST.
