Your favorite childhood combination is baked into a sophisticated-looking pastry. The technique is so easy, though. Give it a try! Ingredients:
1 frozen puff pastry, thawed
2/3 Cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 Cup dry milk powder
1/4 Cup powdered sugar
1/2 Cup strawberry preserves
1 egg, beaten with 1 Tbsp water
1 Tbsp coarse sugar (we love raw sugar) Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Stir together peanut butter, dry milk, and powdered sugar. Set aside. Working on parchment paper, unfold and roll out pastry to a 10×14-inch rectangle. Make 3-inch cuts at 1-inch increments down the long sides of pastry. Place peanut butter mixture evenly down center of pastry, and top it with preserves. Fold pastry strips up toward the center and at an angle, alternating sides. Brush or rub egg wash over entire surface of pastry. Sprinkle with sugar. Slide parchment work surface onto baking sheet. Bake 25-30 minutes until browned. Cool for a few minutes before slicing.
